The Zwicky Transient Facility Type Ia supernova survey: first data release and results

چکیده
Type Ia supernovae (SNe~Ia) in the nearby Hubble flow are excellent distance indicators cosmology. The Zwicky Transient Facility (ZTF) has observed a large sample of from an untargeted, rolling survey, reaching $20.8, 20.6, 20.3$ mag $g$ $r$, and $i$-band, respectively. With FoV 47 sq.deg, ZTF discovered $>$ 3000 SNe~Ia little over 2.5 years. Here, we report on 761 spectroscopically classified first year operations (DR1). median redshift $\bar z =$ 0.057, nearly factor two higher than current low-$z$ sample. Our total 934 spectra, which 632 were obtained with robotic SEDm Palomar P60. We assess potential for precision cosmology 305 SNe redshifts host galaxy spectra. is already comparable size to entire combined literature anchor detection 13.5 days before maximum light, about 10 earlier literature. Furthermore, six our at $D_L < 80$ Mpc, distances can be JWST era, such that have calibrator same instrument. In duration ZTF-I, fifty obtain distances, key percent level scale measurements.

The Type Ia Supernova
We present the rst measurement of the rate of Type Ia super-novae at high redshift. The result is derived using a large subset of data from the Supernova Cosmology Project as described in more detail at this meeting by Perlmutter et al. (1996). We present our methods for estimating the numbers of galaxies and the number of solar luminosities to which the survey is sensitive, the supernova detec...
متن کاملType Ia Supernovae and the Acceleration of the Universe: Results from the ESSENCE Supernova Survey
The ESSENCE project was a six year supernova search carried out with the CTIO 4-m telescope. We also obtained spectra with many of the world’s largest ground-based telescopes and observed some of our SNe with the Hubble Space Telescope and the Spitzer Space Telescope. We achieved our goal of discovering over 200 Type Ia SNe in the redshift range 0.2 to 0.8. With these data we determined the cos...
متن کاملNew Results from the Supernova Ia Progenitor Survey
We report on a systematic radial velocity survey for double degenerate (DD) binaries as potential progenitors of type Ia supernovae: SPY (ESO Supernovae Ia Progenitor surveY). More than 1000 white dwarfs and pre-white dwarfs were observed with the VLT. Our aim is to perform a statistically significant test of the DD scenario. SPY detected more than 100 new binary white dwarfs, dramatically incr...
متن کاملThe Type Ia Supernova Rate
We explore the idea that the Type Ia supernovae (SNe Ia) rate is made up of two components: a prompt piece that is proportional to the star formation rate (SFR) and an extended piece that is proportional to the total stellar mass. We fit the parameters of this model to the local observations of Mannucci and collaborators and then study its impact on three important problems. On cosmic scales, t...
متن کاملModified Median Statistics and Type Ia Supernova Data
The median statistic has recently been discussed by Gott et al. as a more reliable alternative to the standard χ 2 likelihood analysis, in the sense of requiring fewer assumptions about the data and being almost as constraining. We apply this statistic to the currently available combined dataset of 92 distant type Ia supernovae, and also to a mock SNAP-class dataset. We find that the performanc...
